1. Michelle Trachtenberg was the top-trending person searched in the past week following her passing

  • "Michelle Trachtenberg tribute" was one of the top five trending "tribute" searches in the past week, and Buffy co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar was the top-trending related search

  • The Aly & AJ song No One broke out in the past week, and so did the song's debut movie Ice Princess, starring Trachtenberg

  • Searches for Buffy the Vampire Slayer spiked +3,000% and are at a five year high, as well as searches for Pete and Pete

  • Harriet the Spy

  • Ice Princess


2. "severe tropical storm" searches spiked +1,500% globally 

  • Fiji is the top country searching tropical cyclone in the past week, followed by Vanuatu 

  • Search interest in the island of Réunion spiked +500% in the past week, and red alert was a breakout-related search

3. Search interest in measles is at a five year high

  • "measles death rate" searches broke out in the past week, and measles vaccine history was a top-trending related search

  • Searches for "measles booster for seniors" spiked 1,550% in the past week, and Texas was the top state searching

GRAPH: searches for "bird flu symptoms" and "strep symptoms" have been above those of "measles symptoms" for the past five years, but in the past week, measles symptoms spiked 130% above bird flu symptoms and +40% above step symptoms


4. Zero Day was the top-trending show searched in the past week

  • "zero day ending explained" was the top-trending "ending explained" search in the past week, and "zero day season 2" was a breakout search

  • The song "who killed bambi" by the Pistols broke out in conjunction to the show, and search interest in the Sex Pistols is now at a three year high

  3. How many episodes of Zero Day?

5. "bolognese sauce recipes" searches rose +180% in the past week 

  • "cotoletta alla bolognese" searches spiked +200% in the past week, and spaghetti carbonara rose +110%

  • "what are the ratios for a traditional vinaigrette" was also a breakout search in the past week, and "hollandaise sauce" searches doubled in the past week as well


MAP: tomato sauce was a top-searched sauce in the past week, as were soy sauce and cheese sauce

  • Trending Searches: search terms that had the highest spike in traffic over a given time period as compared with the previous equivalent period
